This Subject Advisor service has been designed to support our history qualifications. Led by the Subject Advisor, Mark Battye, the service will help solve your queries relating to our history qualifications and provide a means of sharing ideas, information and concerns.

The service also offers all teachers of history the opportunity to discuss and share history-related issues.

Central to the service is our online History Community Forum which provides you with an opportunity to speak to other teachers, raise concerns and ask advice. Whether you have concerns about new specifications or assessment, or you want to know what books and resources to use to support your teaching, you can use our History Community Forum as a means to find out more. You can also read documents and use links that Mark Battye has posted.

If you are an existing Edexcel centre, you can use the site and the materials posted on it to help with your planning and teaching of our current history qualifications. You can also provide us with feedback as to how we can improve our qualifications, our support and our services.

Mark Battye’s biography: 

Mark joined Edexcel 10 years ago, starting in exams management where he became Assessment Leader for GCE History and was later promoted to Qualification Delivery and Award Manager for all Edexcel’s history qualifications. He recently played a key role in the redesign of both the new GCE and new GCSE/IGCSE History specifications.
