Allows students to fully research the Engineering sector by:

• Providing links to and details about the engineering industry – giving case studies of eight real life companies.
• Providing real insights into the careers of industry practitioners (who also feature on the DVD) – allowing students to see the qualifications or courses required to achieve a position and giving specific links for further information.
• Explaining and contextualising the importance of the maths and science concepts behind engineering principles – helping your students come to terms with the demands of the subject.
• Linking directly to product and service case studies in the Engineering@Work DVD – considering what the product is, what it is used for and why?

The pack:

• Opens students' minds to the real and diverse world of engineering with filmed case studies, company products and services
• Introduces learners to real engineer across a range of disciplines and with various levels of responisibility
• Provides learners with a context for the product or service
• Gives learners an understanding of a product's or service's function through seeing and listening to an explanation of how it works
• Contains activities that link to specific sections of the case studies, (for example, researching the properties of specific materials) and encourage learner's individual research skills, using both written forms and internet search engines.
