This year, we have developed a brand new series of training events specifically to help you and your learners get the most out of BTEC. These events have been designed taking into account feedback from you, and include many practical tips and advice on delivery and assessment, example materials, chances to network, as well as practical activities that will allow you to produce and take away something you can use in your centre. What’s more, we’ll be fixing our 2010 prices for the summer 2011 events!
Due to increasing demand for BTEC training events, we have also widened the sectors for which training will be available, so we now have an extensive range of events to support you specifically with the sector you deliver.
This year there are two types of events for each sector and for Level 2 Firsts and Level 3 Nationals:
- New to teaching BTEC - for those of you who are new to delivering BTEC; and
- Experienced in teaching BTEC - for those of you who have been delivering BTEC for at least a year.
These two events have been developed so that they meet your individual needs based on your level of experience with BTEC.
The 'New to teaching BTEC' events will be key for anyone who has introduced, or is think of introducing, a new BTEC qualification, as well as those of you who may be new to BTEC altogether. It will show you how to apply the vocational, 'real-world' style of BTECs, which makes them so valuable to learners, and will really get you going confidently with engaging delivery and vocationally relevant assessments.
The 'Experienced in teaching BTEC' events will allow you to take your BTEC courses to the next level, enhancing delivery and assessment and sharing tips and ideas on how to better engage your learners. You will leave feeling more confident that you are getting the most out of BTEC and that your learners can really achieve the highest of their potential.
On top of this, we will also be putting on some free online/recorded training sessions called 'Getting Started with BTEC'. These events will introduce BTEC and go through the admin processes and requirements to get you up and running with your BTEC qualification. This will allow the sessions above to focus purely on training - allowing you to get in-depth, practical advice and support on improving delivery and assessment from the subject experts.
