In addition to the documentation issued in hard copy with your results, there are a number of important sources of supporting information that you may find useful:
Grade Boundaries
Grade boundaries indicate the minimum marks needed to achieve each grade. Grade boundaries for this and previous examination sessions can be found on our Grade Boundaries page.
UMS charts and grading guidance
Guidance on the various UMS and points charts as well grading information issued results can be found in our results guide.
Examiners’ Reports
These reports provide feedback from members of the senior examining team in each subject regarding overall candidate performance on each paper. These are available from Results Plus. You will need your Edexcel user name and password to access these. An example is here.
Exemplification Booklets for the GCE from 2008 specifications
These booklets are prepared for some specifications as an exemplification of how marks were awarded to the written papers. They feature work produced by the candidates in the actual examination. They contain the questions and mark schemes, together with examples of student answers. They give the marks awarded for each exemplar response plus commentary by senior examiners. They do not include exemplars for every question on the paper, but only those where contrasting levels of response could be produced. The exemplification booklets are available for download from the individual subject pages in the GCE from 2008 area. They can be found at the bottom of the subject page in the ‘Documents’ panel. You will need your Edexcel username and password to access them. They are not available for other qualifications.
Moderator reports
Moderator reports provide moderator feedback regarding your marking of your candidates’ coursework. Because they are unique to your centre, you need to access them using Edexcel Online. You will need to log in, select the relevant qualification ‘tab’ and go to ‘Results’ and then ‘Moderator Reports’. If you do not have an Edexcel Online account, you will need to speak to your Examinations Officer.
