How do I book on to an event?

There are two easy ways for you to register for a training course:
1) Book online: Search for a training event and book online via our online booking system. (Please note that in order to book online, you will need an Edexcel Online account. if you need to set up EOL account, please contact your centre administrator).
2) Email trainingbookings@pearson.com quoting 'New Booking' in the subject matter and giving us the following details:
- Full name - Centre number (if applicable) - Full centre address - Event code (for the event you wish to attend) - Event date and location |
How do I find information about your events?
|
Information about all Training from Pearson UK events can be found in the training area of the website.
|
Do I need to bring anything with me to the event?
|
You will be informed in the joining instructions if you need to take any materials with you to the event.
|
How will I know my booking has been accepted?
|
You will receive booking confirmation via email within 48 hours of your booking being entered onto our booking system. This email will come from trainingbookings@pearson.com.
For events that are fully booked, customers will be placed on a waiting list. Waiting lists are monitored, and where there is adequate demand for an event, a new one will be set up. Please check with the call handler at the time of booking whether your booking is firm or you have been placed on to a waiting list.

Who will the training be run by?
|
Leaders in their field, our INSET trainers offer you a wealth of technical and practical knowledge and advice.
|
Could I have the contact details for other delegates booked on to my event?
|
Unfortunately, due to the Data Protection Act, we can't provide any delegate information. You can, however, swap contact details at the event if you so wish.
|
What communications will I receive about this event?
|
All communications will be sent via email. A booking confirmation will be sent within 48 hours of booking. You will then be sent your joining instructions ten working days before your event. A reminder email will be sent five days before the event.
If, for any reason, details of the event timing or location change, you will also receive a course amendment letter by email. All emails will be sent from trainingbookings@pearson.com.
Delegates will also be contacted by phone should any change occur within five working days of the event.

What if Training from Pearson UK do not contact me?
|
You should receive full joining instructions at least 10 working days before the event.

What do I do if I have special access requirements?
|

I am disabled. Can I bring support to the event with me?
|
Yes. Please let us know at the time of booking if you will be bringing support with you. Alternatively, please email us at trainingbookings@pearson.com, quoting Access Arrangements in the subject matter.
Please provide us with the full name of your support worker as well as all the information below relating to your booking:
- Full name - Centre number (if applicable) - Full centre address - Event code (for the event you wish to attend) - Event date and location.

Can this event be delivered at my centre?
|
If you're unable to attend one of our National Programme face-to-face or online events due to work restrictions, and you would like this event to be delivered at your centre, please email centre-basedtraining@pearson.com and a member of the team will work with you to understand and fulfil your requirements.

Will I receive proof of attendance?
|
Yes. We supply a certificate of attendance for all Training from Pearson UK events. |
Can non-Edexcel centres attend paid events?
|
No, the training services we provide are only available to Edexcel registered centres (schools, colleges or institutions with an Edexcel centre number) or organisations that have applied to become an Edexcel centre. We also offer access to our training services to local education authorities and our regulators.

How do I - or how does my centre - pay for the event?
|
An invoice will be generated 11 days after your booking has been confirmed. Payments must be received within 30 days of the invoice date.

How up to date is the content of this event?
|
Our teacher training programme is designed to keep you up to date in today’s fast-changing environment and further your professional development.
|
Can I provisionally reserve a place on an event?
|
No; unfortunately, we can only accept firm bookings for our events.
|
When will I be invoiced?
|
An invoice will be generated 11 days after your booking has been confirmed. Payments must be received within 30 days of the invoice date.

What is your cancellation policy?
|
In accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you may (if you are a consumer for the purposes of those regulations) have the right to cancel your contract with us with regard to an event.
This right of cancellation lasts for a period of ten calendar days from the day we send you confirmation of the contract between us, unless the event falls within ten days of booking.
This right of cancellation shall not affect your statutory rights. Should you wish to exercise this right of cancellation, please send confirmation to the contact address provided as part of the booking process.

Can I transfer from one event to another?
|
Yes.
Please provide the team with the new event code and new event date that you would like to transfer to. |
The course I would like to attend is fully booked. Is there a waiting list?
|
Yes. If we have enough interest in a particular event, we will set up additional events where needed. If a new event is set up, everyone on the waiting list will be automatically transferred to the new course and contacted with the new event details. If you are unable to attend the new event, please email trainingbookings@pearson.com.

My event has been cancelled. Will it be rescheduled?
|
Wherever possible, Training from Pearson UK will look to reschedule an event that has been cancelled. The exception to this is where events are cancelled due to poor uptake. We could also run this cancelled event in your centre. Please email centre-basedtraining@pearson.com for further information.
|
Can I receive course materials for an event I was unable to attend?
|
If you are unable to make it to an event that you were booked to attend, Training from Pearson UK will send out the training pack contents to you on a CD-rom. (Please note that, in these situations, we will issue a full invoice for the event).
|
Who do I contact about invoice queries?
|

Can another delegate attend on my behalf?
|

Where can I find out about parking at the event?
|
Venue information will be included in your joining instructions. Please liaise directly with the venue should your query be more specific.
|
Does Pearson cover my teacher release fees?
|
|
When should I book my travel?
|
You should book your travel once you have received your joining instructions.
Please note that all events are subject to cancellation up until 14 days before the organised date. Therefore, you should not arrange any non-refundable travel until you have received your joining instructions. You should receive full joining instructions at least 10 working days before the event.

Can I get a copy of the trainer's presentation?
|
A hard copy of the trainer's presentation will be included in your event pack.
|
How do I complain if I am dissatisfied?
|
If you are dissatisfied with the service you have received, you can register a complaint by emailing us at trainingbookings@pearson.com.
Please state your centre number and the code for the event that your complaint refers to.

Wherever possible, we will acknowledge receipt of your complaint in writing within three working days of receipt, and provide a full response within 15 working days.

How much discount does the 'early-bird' fee give me?
|
The 'early-bird' fee gives you a 10% discount if you book six or more weeks before an event.

I can't view the map you sent me - can you help?
|

What can I do if I can’t find an event suitable for me?
|
Please email trainingbookings@pearson.com, and a member of our team will assist you further. Please provide a brief summary of your specific requirements, as well as full contact details.

I have dietary requirements – will these be met?
|
Dietary requirements will be met wherever possible. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirements.
|
I purchased train tickets, but the event was cancelled. Will I be reimbursed?
|
Please note that we are unable to meet travel expenses or teacher release fees associated with our events, and that events are subject to cancellation or amendment. Please be assured that, under these circumstances, we will provide you with adequate notice.
