Prepare your learners for a safe work placement with the new Level 2 Award in Safe Learning in the Workplace (QCF)
What’s new?
We have developed a new Level 2 Award in Safe Learning in the Workplace (QCF), available for first teaching from January 2011.
This is a two-credit, 20 guided learning hour (GLH) qualification which consists of one mandatory unit: Reducing the Risks to Health and Safety within a Work Placement Environment.
Safe Learning in the Workplace can be delivered as a stand-alone qualification or alongside a BTEC in WorkSkills.
Who is it for?
It’s an ideal qualification for pre- and post-16 learners preparing for work experience or employment.
Why do a BTEC Level 2 Award in Safe Learning in the Workplace?
A BTEC Level 2 Award in Safe Learning in the Workplace helps learners gain the essential skills to keep them safe and healthy in the workplace.
Our new qualification is mapped to the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for health and safety and offers full coverage of Unit HSK, some of the underpinning knowledge for Unit HSS1.
Learners who successfully complete this qualification are more prepared for the world of work and achieve a nationally recognised BTEC Level 2 qualification which carries 11.5 performance points.
Delivering the qualification
Learning and delivery is flexible, with access to support materials via the web so you can decide on the delivery method appropriate for your learners.
Assessment
Assessment is straightforward, via an onscreen, multiple-choice test which takes an hour to complete and consists of 45 questions. A 70% pass mark is required to achieve the qualification.
Tests can be set up with as little as two hours' notice, and you'll receive results within 48 hours or earlier via Edexcel Online. Learners can take the test up to three times, with questions varying on each attempt. We aim to get your paper certificates to you within two weeks.
