From September this year, all schools will be able to offer our new, 2011 WorkSkills qualifications which have now been approved by the DfE for pre-16s.
As you will be aware, last summer the Department for Education (DfE) put a freeze on pre-16 Section 96 approvals. This meant that for the current academic year, while our college customers transferred over to the new 2011 versions of WorkSkills, our schools customers have continued teaching the 2008 specifications which expire at the end of August.
The DfE has now ‘unfrozen’ Section 96 and approved our new WorkSkills qualifications for pre-16s. All centres wishing to offer WorkSkills should therefore deliver the 2011 versions from September. Please see the approved list below:

We firmly believe in the value of our WorkSkills qualifications for learners and hope that you choose to offer these excellent courses. At a time when young people are struggling to compete in an extremely difficult jobs market, it’s the employability skills – like CV writing, team working and leadership – that will give them the edge, and this is what WorkSkills is all about.
Keep up to date with all WorkSkills developments here.
