Final registration date for ALAN
Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy (ALAN) qualifications at Level 1 and 2 only are coming to an end from August 2012.
The final date for registering learners for ALAN at Level 1-2 is 31 August 2012.
The final date for certification of ALAN at Level 1-2 is 31 August 2014.
Our Entry Level ALAN qualifications have been extended until 31 August 2013.
ALAN has gradually been replaced with functional skills to provide a clear path for achievement at Entry Level 1 through to Level 2, in English, maths and ICT.

The Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy qualifications are sometimes referred to as Adult Basic Skills, but can be taken by learners of any age. They are available at:
Entry Levels 1-3
Levels 1-2
At Levels 1 and 2, the National Tests in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy are at the same level as a GCSE.
