The Money and Finance Skills qualification is made up of two short, funded qualifications, one at level 1 and one at level 2. Both can be completed using the excellent free online support materials provided by Nationwide Education. The level 2 qualification is worth half a GCSE to your centre. Students who are not ready for level 2 can study level 1 and move up to level 2 when they’re ready.
Why your learners might benefit from this qualification:
-
This is the only financial awareness course that allows learners to use
free online resources AND gain a recognisable and useful qualification;
-
Engaging online resources mean your students can do the majority of
the study in their own time in an educational or home setting;
-
It fully accredits the teaching you may already be doing with your students;
-
The qualification will contribute towards your learners’ attainment as it is equivalent to half a GCSE;
-
It is relevant to the real world and students will be able to relate to it, meaning
they are engaged throughout the learning and will gain real life skills;
-
The course is short and taught in bitesize chunks, meaning it won’t eat
too much into your curriculum time.
