Pilot Programme
Edexcel was selected by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) to undertake a pilot programme for Project qualifications, which started in September 2006. We worked closely with an extensive range of schools throughout the pilot; giving us time and experience to developed our qualifications according to best practice and ensure they are backed by a robust quality-assurance process.

Teacher Resources
Teachers will be able to access a wide range of free web resources including exemplar projects, detailed examiners’ reports and a comprehensive Teacher’s Guide. The easy-to-follow Teacher’s Guide includes guidance on programme delivery and mentoring, research skills and structuring project outcomes, giving you all the information you need to deliver the Project qualification confidently. These documents can be found under each level description in the left hand menu in the document section.
You will also have access to further support through our published resources. These resources will offer guidance on specific units of the Project, and will include essential support for the taught component of the Project, such as how to teach research skills.
We have also developed specific Student books for the Project at all levels. These new resources are written by a team of authors with experience of supervising and assessing Projects.
Ask the Expert
Our Ask the Expert service puts you in direct contact with a Project expert and moderator. Our experts have been heavily involved in developing the Project qualifications and specifications, so there is no-one better qualified to answer your questions. Upon receiving your detailed questions, an expert will send you a written response within two working days.
Training Events
A National Programme of Training Events throughout the year will help to ensure that teachers have a comprehensive understanding of how to deliver and assess all levels of the Project qualification.
We understand that it is sometimes hard to come out to training events so this year we have also set up a range of online training events for all levels of the Project.
