Principal Learning IT Moderators’ Toolkit

Principal Learning IT work must be electronically submitted on CD for the Multimedia units at all levels (IT106, IT206 and IT306). Electronic submission is encouraged on all Principal Learning units, particularly where databases are used.

All our moderators have a pre-defined software toolkit installed on their computers. Students must ensure that the contents of their work can be read by the software in this toolkit. Moderators will not be able to access content that requires the use of any other application.

Multimedia work submitted should be in a format suitable for the easy interchange of information between operating systems.

One CD per unit should be submitted for moderation. For each CD, a separate folder on  the topmost level of the folder tree should be created for each of the sampled projects. Each folder should be named according to the following naming convention:

[centre #]_[candidate #]_[first two letters of surname]_[first letter of first name]

For example, John Smith with candidate number 9876 at centre 12345 would have a controlled assessment project in a folder titled: “12345_9876_SM_J”.

Please email eportfolio@edexcel.com if you have any questions about the moderators’ toolkit.
