Principal Learning in Construction and the Built Environment is an employer-endorsed qualification that introduces young people to the nature of the built environment and its impact on both individuals and communities. |
Learners will:
- explore the specific job roles and skills of individuals employed within the built environment sector
- gain a broad understanding and working knowledge of design considerations, the preparation and use of drawings, and architectural features associated with the built environment
- explore the properties of materials and the tools and practical techniques used in the design, construction, maintenance and management of the built environment
- develop a range of analytical and investigative skills in relation to the social, economic and cultural contribution of the built environment to individuals’ lives and to the community
- explore the factors and principles influencing the design, creation, maintenance and management of the built environment
- investigate the contribution to sustainability of activities within the built environment.
