Edexcel’s GCE O level in Mathematics - Pure is an alternative O level to Mathematics Syllabus A. This syllabus has been constructed so that it assumes knowledge of the topics contained in the syllabus for Mathematics (Syllabus B) at O level, and broadly extends this work. It emphasises the importance of a common core of Pure Mathematics at this level, and no distinction is made between so-called ‘modern’ and ‘traditional’ mathematics.
