Information Communication Technology (ICT) NVQs fall into two categories: NVQs in Information Technology (IT) Users, and NVQs in Communication Technology (CT) Practitioners and Professionals.
The NVQs for IT Users are at levels 1, 2 and 3. The qualifications at levels 1 and 2 are aimed at people who use IT as part of their job, and cover activities such as word processing, email and internet use, and working with artwork and imaging. Level 3 is more specialist and is aimed at professionals using the full functionality of applications for complex tasks.
The NVQs for CT Practitioners and Professionals are available at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, and are aimed at technicians working with IT systems and equipment. With these qualifications you could, for example, work as an engineer (network, software and hardware), or in cabling or fault finding and repair.
