The NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development is aimed at individuals working, or seeking to work, in nurseries, schools, crèche facilities, children’s centres or children’s services, or as childminders, nannies, team leaders or holiday representatives on cruise ships or in hotels. It covers work with children from 0 to 16. There are three levels (2, 3 and 4), and the level will depend on the job role. Career opportunities in this sector include teaching, social work, playwork, health visiting, paediatric nursing, nursery management or training, and inspection.
