BTEC Nationals from 2007 | Blacksmithing and Metalworking

Although this is a relatively small sub-sector, there is a defined place for those undertaking the specialised training and education required to become a blacksmith or metalworker and who wish to pursue a career in functional and creative forge work. Students completing the BTEC Level 3 National Award, Certificate and Diploma in Blacksmithing and Metalworking can progress to a university degree or Foundation Degree in an appropriate vocational discipline, to BTEC HNCs and HNDs, or to employment.

The BTEC Nationals in Blacksmithing and Metalworking were replaced by the QCF-accredited BTEC Level 3 Certificate, Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma and Extended Diploma in Blacksmithing and Metalworking from September 2010. Find out more
