Engineers, according to the Engineering Council, on average enjoy better remuneration than accountants and solicitors and there are huge opportunities in the UK and abroad for suitably qualified technicians within the engineering sector. The BTEC Level 3 National Certificate and Diploma in Operations and Maintenance Engineering can provide a springboard to a university degree or Foundation Degree in an appropriate vocational discipline, to a BTEC HNC or HND, or to employment.

The BTEC Nationals in Operations and Maintenance Engineering were replaced by the QCF-accredited BTEC Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Operations and Maintenance Engineering from September 2010. Find out more
