Assessment update

A new release of the Pearson devised FPoS knowledge assessment papers have been released throughout May.
A few of the papers had carried a guidance cover note that stated an 80% pass rate which was incorrect and was subsequently amended to the agreed 70% as standard. Any learner assessed with the new paper will be subject to the 70% pass threshold regardless of the notification on the paper.
Please make sure that you have not stockpiled any previous papers for learner assessment and download as required as any learner assessed on a paper after its withdrawal date will be null and void.

Advisory Group

There is a FPOS Advisory Group on the Pearson Panel. The group is an open group and we welcome all new members regardless of whether you are already a delivery centre or not. We will be using the advisory group throughout the FPOS Review and Revision for consultation and feedback so if you do want to be involved please join us.

The FPOS suite was designed by the NHS for delivery by the NHS to train and equip first responders in rural areas to support the ambulance service.

As the programmes have become established their popularity has grown in sectors for which it was not originally designed and it is not always a ideal fit with regard to content and/or approval criteria.

As part of the planned review and revision of the FPOS suite we are proposing to develop some additional optional content so support sectors that have expressed an interest in FPOS in a wider context. If you would be interested in contributing to either the develop of the content or in the consultation and feedback of the developments for the following sectors please let me know at mary.weir@pearson.com stipulating the sector you are interested contributing to:

FPOS for Security
FPOS in Remote Areas (including maritime/offshore/hostile environments/mountain rescue)
FPOS Advanced First Responder (including water rescue/extreme hot and cold/specialised event support (sport and leisure))
