The Edexcel Certificates in Science (International GCSE for UK schools)
As you may be aware, we're producing a new suite of International GCSE science qualifications for UK schools - The Edexcel Certificates in Science. These qualifications are based on our already well-established and extremely popular International GCSEs in science, and have been developed in response to the government’s decision to make International GCSEs available to all UK state schools.
The Edexcel Certificates in Science are available in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Science (Double Award). These specifications are available for first teaching from September 2011. |

What does this mean for International GCSE?
Edexcel International GCSE qualifications will continue to be available alongside the new Edexcel Certificates in Science. However, as part of the accreditation process, any minor changes made to the new qualifications in order to achieve accreditation have also been introduced to our International GCSEs to ensure that the two qualifications are identical.
We will provide information on these minor changes and all the advice and support you need to ensure there is no interruption to your teaching programme.
