| We would like to clarify that International GCSEs are not approved for use in UK state schools. This is because International GCSEs have 'GCSE' in their title but do not conform to GCSE subject or qualification criteria, which means that they cannot be accredited by Ofqual under that title.
Instead, they will be accredited and listed on Ofqual’s Register of Regulated Qualifications as 'Level 1/Level 2 Certificates', under 'Other General Qualifications'. These Level 1/Level 2 Certificates are eligible for funding in UK state schools.
Results of the Level 1/Level 2 Certificates, which will be known as The Edexcel Certificates, will be recorded on school performance tables, and successful attainment will count towards a student’s achievement of the English Baccalaureate.
We have already had our Certificates in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Sciences, History, Geography, French, Spanish, German and Chinese accredited.
