International GCSE from 2003 | French

This page is for reference only, as the legacy International GCSE from 2003 specification is no longer suitable for teaching. It has been replaced by our updated International GCSE from 2009 specification.

IGCSE French

Edexcel’s International GCSE in French seeks to encourage students to acquire a knowledge and understanding of French for everyday social interaction. The course aims to develop a variety of linguistic skills and a basic awareness of French culture. The International GCSE grade will be awarded on the candidates’ achievement in listening, reading and writing. Assessment of spoken language is optional, and is reported separately from the other skills.
