Controlled Assessment Support Service (CASS)

From September 2010, controlled assessment replaces coursework for the new English GCSEs. To support you through this critical change, we have set up CASS – a comprehensive support service to help you manage controlled assessment.

By joining CASS you’ll receive updates and get access to the following:

  • Controlled assessment podcasts
A series of podcasts designed to give you step-by-step solutions to a wide range of general and subject-specific questions around controlled assessment.

  • Online community
An online discussion forum for you to share, discuss and debate ideas with your peers. You can also post questions, answers and advice about controlled assessment.

  • Teacher Support Book
Your quick-start guide to what each of the controlled assessment units are about, FAQs and how to set up and run controlled assessment tasks. Visit English, English Language or English Literature document pages.
