GCSE 2012 reforms: Impact on Religious Studies specification
The GCSE 2009 modular Religious Studies specification without SPaG is available to download below, and has a final assessment window of June 2012.
The GCSE 2012 linear Religious Studies specification is also available to download below. This includes SPaG for all assessments from June 2013 onwards, and sets out the linear requirements for first teaching in September 2012 (for two-year courses) and first assessment in June 2014. The main changes are:
• Linear specification for first teaching from September 2012• Linear assessment structure: exams are taken at the end of the course• We'll continue to offer both the GCSE Religious Studies Short Course and Full Course• Students cannot carry forward unit results from a Short Course to a Full Course• Additional marks for spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) from June 2013.Read more about the GCSE 2012 reforms
