||From September 2012 GCSEs went linear. Please ensure that from September 2013 you are teaching the current Edexcel GCSE 2012 linear specification.|
The Edexcel GCSE 2009 modular Citizenship specification is available to download below, and has a final assessment window of June 2013.
The Edexcel GCSE 2012 linear Citizenship specification for first teaching in September 2012 (for two-year courses) is also available below. The main changes are:
- Linear assessment structure: exams are taken at the end of the course, removing the option of 'topping up' from a short course to a full course
- Units only available in summer exam series
- Controlled assessment conducted at any time but submitted at the end of the course
- Units cannot be resat before cash-in.

Update on controlled assessment record sheet
The Edexcel GCSE Citizenship Studies controlled assessment record sheet for both unit 2 and unit 4 have been updated to incorporate the authentication form. The new record sheets can be found below under 'Controlled Assessment' and then 'Administration'.
The previous record sheets may still be submitted in summer 2014 however the authentication form must also be completed and attached to the coursework. Where possible, centres should use the new record sheets.
