Edexcel's GCSE in English Literature (1213) offers a study of English literature that requires students to read and respond to a wide range of texts from the literary tradition and from contemporary writing. There are opportunities to cross over the teaching and study with either of the GCSE English specifications, and there is a shared collection of poems for the examinations.
