We're pleased to announce that our GCSE 2012 linear science specifications for first teaching in September 2012 (for two-year courses) and first assessment in June 2014 have now been accredited by Ofqual.

The linear specifications are available to download from the specifications page alongside the GCSE 2011 modular specifications, which have a final assessment window of June 2013.

The main changes are:
  • New linear qualification for two-year courses starting in September 2012
  • Linear assessment structure: exams are taken, and controlled assessment submitted, at the end of the course
  • No content change to the specification
  • External assessment and controlled assessment moderation only available in summer exam series.
