More about our GCE from 2008 in History

A natural progression from our new GCSE specifications

Our new GCSE and GCE History specifications are carefully designed to have a common approach to both assessment and content, easing students’ transition to studying History A level.

A great choice of topics

There is a huge range of examined topics to choose from. The option of designing your own coursework programmes at A2 gives you complete flexibility to design your own coherent and exciting programme to motivate and inspire your students.

A choice of question in every unit

Our question papers have been carefully designed to be accessible to students of all abilities. We also offer a choice of question in every unit, eliminating surprises in exams and ensuring that students are assessed on what they know, not what they don’t know.

The best support

We provide all the information and practical support and guidance you need to digest and deliver our GCE specification. Our free Getting Started Guide details the exact requirements of each unit and provides examples of question structures and student responses. We have a wide range of free support material on our website, including schemes of work for all examined options, free past papers and exemplification booklets containing student responses and examiner comments. We also have a dedicated Subject Advisor, Mark Battye, who can quickly answer your questions on aspects of our history specifications and exam preparation.
