Key features of our GCE from 2008 in Art and Design:

• Encourages personal, creative and imaginative approaches to art and design
• Has a four-unit structure, maximising choice and flexibility
• Has no forbidden endorsement combinations
• Allows students to follow a broad, open course, or to specialise in one or more endorsed titles
• All endorsements allow students to work with both traditional and new media
• Students are allowed to work solely with new media within any endorsement
• Choice and flexibility within endorsements
• Provides an assessment structure with an accessible marking grid that is easy to apply, and provides clear guidance right across the range of grades
• Prepares students for higher levels of study in other art and design qualifications
• A2 endorsement for Critical and Contextual Studies is available
