GCE Performing Arts embraces all the major performance forms and skills, including dance, theatre, music and design. Centres may choose to offer all of these forms or to focus on only one or two. Assessment is wholly based on a practical approach to performance skills, allowing students the freedom to follow their own performance interests and the opportunity to develop their skills.

Students will also gain an understanding of how a performance is realised from both a creative and an administrative and organisational perspective. External assessment is in the form of student performance assessed by a visiting examiner.
