GCE Health and Social care

Edexcel’s GCE specifications in Health and Social Care are designed to provide learners with a broad introduction to the health and social care sector. The qualifications aim to develop and sustain an interest in health, early years (care and education), social care and issues affecting the care sector.

In a work-related context, learners will develop skills that will enable them to make an effective contribution to the care sector, including research, evaluation and problem-solving skills. Students may apply their learning to their choice of contexts: health, children’s services, care of older people or individuals with specific needs.
