The ability of students to transfer skills, make connections, integrate ideas, develop concepts and demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge is invaluable in today’s world. Each of these areas features in General Studies, giving this subject key importance in the curriculum.
General Studies draws elements from English, history, geography, economics, politics, sociology and science, among other subjects. It differs from traditional subjects in its focus on thinking and analytical skills, and requires the ability to examine questions from a broader standpoint than that of a single discipline.
