GCE (Curriculum 2000) in Ancient History  

Edexcel’s GCE in Ancient History explores the history of ancient Greece from 478 to 323 BC, covering key personalities, events, institutions and thought. Herodotus and the Persian wars (490 – 478 BC) is included as a special subject. 

Key aims of the syllabus include developing a sound knowledge and understanding of the central periods of Greek history, and introducing the learner to the nature of historical evidence and the problems with the historical interpretations of these periods.
