New units added

Recognising vocational learning at Entry Level 1, we've added additional units in horticulture, hospitality, performing arts and recycling to the following qualifications:

- Edexcel Entry Level 1 Certificate in Personal Progress 
- Edexcel Entry Level 1 Diploma in Personal Progress
- Edexcel Entry Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Independent Living

These qualifications have been designed to allow learners working at pre-Entry or Entry Level 1 to develop their skills in a number of different areas.

The Edexcel Entry Level 1 specification for Personal Progress (QCF) includes qualifications in:

• Communication Skills
• Mathematical Skills
• ICT Skills
• Skills for Independent Living 
• Skills for Supported Employment.

The units cover areas such as communication, reading and writing, mathematics, developing skills for independent living, developing skills for the workplace, and engaging with the world around you. Units are assessed using a witness statement proforma.

The intended progression route for learners successfully achieving these qualifications include: supported employment, independent living, and progression to other Entry Level qualifications.
