These qualifications have been designed to help learners understand aspects of the hair and beauty sector and the skills required to work successfully in the industry.

There are a number of mandatory units in each qualification and either unit 6 or unit 15 can be chosen.

A wide range of practical topics are available to learners from Entry 3 to Level 2. Learners will have the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding of the Hair and Beauty Industry through the practical activities.

Learners will be able to develop their communication skills and this can enhance their preparation for their Functional Skills qualifications. Learners will develop their employability skills in areas such as time management, and teamwork.

There are also opportunities to cover aspects of Every Learner Matters, including ‘be healthy’, ‘stay safe’ and ‘make a positive contribution’.

These units have been developed in association with other awarding bodies.
