Megan Robertson
BTEC Level 2 Performing Arts

Confident, diligent and motivated, Megan is a 16 year old actress, dance teacher, mentor and BTEC graduate. After completing her BTEC Level 2 in Performing Arts last year she is now studying four A Levels in Music, Dance, History and English Literature.

Her ambition is to move to musical theatre college after completing her A-Levels. An ambition that has been realised through the study of her BTEC.

“The BTEC gave me a solid educational base as well as the practical experience I needed to start working towards a career in the theatre. A large part of the course was based around performance, dance, musical theatre, acting and singing, but there is all the academic study as well. I did a lot of research and presenting as well as finance modules to help develop an understanding of how the arts business runs”.

Megan’s BTEC gave her the academic achievements she needed to progress onto A Levels, but it did more than that. It also provided her with the skills she needed to become a dance teacher. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening Megan stands in front of a class of keen young dancers, taking them through new moves and choreographing future shows. “The experience on the BTEC means I’m now qualified as a dance teacher. I teach kids aged 3-12 two evenings a week, which I absolutely love.”

Aside from the teaching, Megan’s BTEC enabled her to continue building on her acting and singing skills. So much so, that she has played a range of theatrical roles, including those in the National Tour of Annie and the South Pacific UK Tour. She also recently completed her first feature film ‘Adolescence’.
