There are many varied roles for individuals within the performing arts, from acting and dancing to the backstage support functions that are vital in bringing any production to realisation. Rewards for those who reach the top of their profession can be great, but competition is fierce, and dedication, determination and talent are paramount. The BTEC Level 2 First Certificates and Diplomas in Performing Arts are designed to provide a broad introduction to working in the sector and offer opportunities for accessing further study, such as a BTEC National qualification or an appropriate NVQ. Learners can choose to focus on acting, dance, performance or production.

The BTEC Firsts in Performing Arts were replaced by the QCF-accredited BTEC Level 2 Certificates, Extended Certificates and Diplomas in Performing Arts from September 2010. Find out more
