Essential Skills Wales
  • Stand-alone qualification for 14-19 learners

  • A compulsory part of Apprenticeships
     
  • More choice and clearer progression for learners
Essential Skills Wales are the only basic skills qualifications offered in Wales. They are available at Entry Levels 1-3, and at Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4. Centres can offer Essential Skills Wales as stand-alone qualifications or as a key component of other qualifications, including BTEC Apprenticeships and the Welsh Baccalaureate.

If you are not currently an Edexcel centre and wish to offer ESW, please complete our Expression of Interest form. If you are currently an Edexcel centre, you will need to gain approval using Edexcel Online.

 

It is intended that these will be joined at a later date by:

  • Problem Solving.
