Diploma statement

Ofqual have today announced changes to the way Diploma will be regulated following the Government’s decision to the close the Diploma Aggregation Service (DAS) in 2013. DAS is the system currently used to bring together the component qualifications needed to get a Diploma.

Following the withdrawal, we have reviewed our position and decided that we will no longer offer the Diploma as a whole. However, we will continue to offer the component parts of the Diploma as independent qualifications, because we believe they have value in their own right. The qualifications that will be offered independently are Principal Learning, functional skills and the Project.

Learners currently studying towards a Diploma and due to complete before the withdrawal date of summer 2013 are not affected and will receive their Diploma as expected. We will continue to offer schools and colleges our full support and guidance throughout these changes.
