From January 2012, all candidate work that is submitted to Edexcel for moderation in an electronic format for Principal Learning IT must be submitted in a format that can be read by software in the Principal Learning IT moderators’ toolkit.
What work should we submit electronically? Principal Learning IT work must be electronically submitted on CD for the Multimedia units on all levels (IT106, IT206 and IT306). This is to ensure that the work can be assessed as it is intended to be seen. Electronic submission is encouraged on all Principal Learning IT units, particularly where databases are used.
One CD per unit should be submitted for moderation. For each CD, a separate folder on the topmost level of the folder tree should be created for each of the sampled projects. Each folder should be named according to the following naming convention:
[centre #]_[candidate #]_[first two letters of surname]_[first letter of first name]
For example, John Smith with candidate number 9876 at centre 12345 would have a controlled assessment project in a folder titled: '12345_9876_SM_J'.
What if we have produced work that is not in the correct format?
Moderators will not be able to assess this work. Work produced in other formats should be converted to an accepted format before submission. If you do have any concerns, please contact eportfolio@edexcel.com.
