Through completing the Principal Learning, learners will:
- investigate the use of engineering in society and its impact on the environment
- develop a range of practical skills and techniques that can be used across the engineering sector
- learn about and apply the processes involved in the production of engineered products, from initial design through to final manufacture
- understand and use computers and other modern technologies in engineering
- gain an understanding of the key scientific principles used in engineering and apply them to engineered systems
- learn how to develop their ideas and prepare potential engineered products for the marketplace
- gain an understanding of health and safety and apply the safe working practices that need to be followed in the engineering workplace.
