|DiDA continues to deliver huge success to students year after year. Once again this summer, over 80% of students achieved a Pass (equivalent to a grade C), and the quality of the work presented for moderation was better than ever.
Time for a refresh
It’s five years since we launched DiDA, so it’s about time we gave ‘her’ a refresh – hence the new revised version of the specification that’s now available on the DiDA documents page.
To summarise the changes:
· We’ve added in Unit 5: Games Authoring.
· We’ve replaced the old key skills mapping with functional skills in ICT mapping so that you can see how functional skills are embedded within Unit 1: Using ICT.
· The National Curriculum programme of study in ICT has recently been revised, so we’ve updated the mapping in the specification (Appendix A).
· We’ve also updated the list of suggested resources that appears at the end of each unit.
No change to unit content or assessment requirements
It’s ‘steady as you go’ as far as DiDA is concerned. The unit content and the assessment requirements have not changed at all, nor are students now required to do more work in order to achieve the qualification!
Our extension to accreditation was granted without any conditions and runs until December 2012. This is a real endorsement of DiDA's quality and the regard in which it is held, and gives you the security of three more years of teaching.
