There are no plans as yet to make obtaining functional ICT a requirement for achievement in DiDA. However, there is a very close correlation between DiDA Unit 1 and functional ICT.

QCA has ruled out the use of proxy qualifications for functional ICT. This means that, even though learners demonstrate by producing an eportfolio for Unit 1 of DiDA that they are functional, they will have to do the functional ICT test too if they want to achieve a functional ICT certificate.
