There are no formal written examinations. Learners complete a substantial project and showcase their achievements in an eportfolio. Summative project briefs (SPBs) are published on this website. New SPBs are issued in September each year and are 'live' for four moderation series, beginning the following summer.

Eportfolios are internally assessed and externally moderated. You can view examples of learners' work in the Getting the standard right section of this website.

Programme Leaders can register for Online Support for Centre Assessors (OSCA). If the Programme Leader receives OSCA accreditation for a DiDA unit, then their centre is not required to submit a sample of candidate eportfolios for external moderation for three years.

DiDA qualifications are 'awarded'. The grade boundaries for each SPB are fixed at the end of the first moderation series.
