About our Teacher Training suite
Edexcel’s new international BTEC Teacher Training suite is a professional development qualification for teachers of any vocational or academic qualification or subject. It helps teachers to update their pedagogical skills and knowledge while giving them the skills, confidence and knowledge to excel in today’s education workplace.
According to a recent independent research report sponsored by Edexcel, Effective Education for Employment, standards of teaching across the globe vary dramatically, and the growing demand for high quality teachers is not being met. That’s why we’ve developed this suite of teacher training qualifications. Our aim is to create an international, vocationally assessed standard and to certify teachers so students and educational institutions know that they’re getting a quality teacher. And that’s good news for everybody involved in the teaching and learning process.
Currently this suite includes the following qualifications for international centres which are benchmarked at Level 4 on the UK qualifications framework:
Edexcel Level 4 BTEC Professional Certificate/Diploma for Training and Development
Edexcel Level 4 BTEC Professional Certificate/Diploma for Developing Best Practice in Teaching
Edexcel Level 4 BTEC Professional Award for Delivering Vocational Training
Edexcel Level 4 BTEC Professional Award for Vocational Assessor Qualification
More international teacher training qualifications will be added to this suite over time. We are also working with key partners to ensure recognition and progression of these qualifications by schools, colleges, unions, universities and ministries across the globe.
