The new BTEC Level 2 Award and Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities have been accredited onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) for first teaching from January 2011. The final accredited specification can be accessed below. These qualifications have replaced the Learning Disability qualifications (LDQ). In addition to changes in the qualifications there are new requirements on Care Quality Commission services in relation to the development of workers. This means that the National Minimum Standard to offer the LDQ to new workers supporting people with a learning disability has been replaced by new regulator outcomes.
