This qualification has been developed in response to employers who wanted to maintain a knowledge based qualification outside the apprenticeship framework. The qualification offers learners a broad knowledge of this part of the logistics sector at level 1 and may provide a foundation for progression into apprenticeships. It may also be used to introduce learners to topics covered in the Initial Driver CPC.
 
The qualification comprises of three units covering; regulations, safety and security requirements, principles of customer service; principles of transporting goods by road, including; planning routes, pre and post journey checks and monitoring the vehicle and load during transit.
 
Please note that this qualification does NOT form the replacement for the QCF Level 2 in Carry and Deliver Goods which was part of the Blueprint Apprenticeship framework and will expire on 31 March 2012.
