Next steps after approval 

If you need approval or want more information about Edexcel and our BTEC qualifications, you can find out more here.

If you are already delivering BTEC qualifications or have gained approval, the steps you need to take next are listed below. (Some steps only apply to particular qualifications). 

  • Step 1 - Please ensure that there is a Quality Nominee for your centre and that contact details are correct on Edexcel Online.
     
  • Step 2Please ensure that all programmes have a Programme Leader (and/or Lead Internal Verifier, where required by a qualification) and that your Quality Nominee knows who they are.
     
  • Step 3 – The Quality Nominee should advise the Edexcel Online administrator – normally the examinations officer – of Lead Internal Verifiers requiring access to OSCA.
     
  • Step 4 – The examinations officer creates accounts on Edexcel Online for Lead Internal Verifiers
               (where required.
     
  • Step 5  - Lead Internal Verifiers taccess inductions event via the BTEC website (available from October 2010).
     
     
  • Step 6 – Programme Leaders book onto appropriate training via Training from Edexcel, if required.
       
  • Step 7 - Examinations officers need to register learners on Edexcel Online by 1 November. Please see the Information Manual for more information.
     
  • Step 8 - Lead Internal Verifiers register for online standardisation on OSCA.
     
  • Step 9 - Centre staff plan dates and actions for quality assurance activities.
     
  • Step 10 – All BTEC staff read the BTEC Quality Assurance Handbook, available on the BTEC website.
