What is BTEC approval?
- Centres outside the UK that wish to offer BTEC qualifications should contact their Regional Office. Please click on the relevant link below to find contact details for your region, including the name of your Regional Manager.

You will need to complete the International Centre and Qualification Approval Form, with any additional qualifications on the International Qualification Approval Form. You can find these forms on the
international BTEC approval page. Your Regional Manager will help you to complete them.
Why is it important?
- You will only be able to register students if you are an approved centre, running an approved programme.
- We need to know that you are delivering BTEC programmes so that support mechanisms can be put in place to help with the delivery and assessment.
How does it work?
- The approval process allows Edexcel to work with your organisation to ensure that all resources are in place to ensure correct delivery and assessment of BTEC programmes.
- Approval allocates a unique centre number to your organisation.
- You are approved to deliver programmes for a limited number of years.
When is it done?
- Centre approval must be gained first.
- Qualification approval must be gained before delivery and assessment of any BTEC programme.
Who is responsible?
- The Head of Centre is responsible for ensuring that the declaration, made when approval is applied for, is read and understood. This declares that the centre has in place all necessary resources and quality assurance policies and procedures.
- The Centre Co-ordinator liaises with the Regional Office during the approval process.
