Controlled Assessment Support Service (CASS)


From September 2009, controlled assessment replaces coursework for all new GCSE subjects with internal assessment.* 

To support you through this critical change, we have set up CASS – a comprehensive support service to help you manage controlled assessment.

By joining CASS you’ll receive updates and get access to the following:

·         Controlled assessment podcasts
A series of podcasts designed to give you step-by-step solutions to a wide range of general and subject-specific questions around controlled assessment.
   GCSE 2009 Controlled Assessment Support Service podcast
 ·         Online communities
Interactive online discussion forums for you to share, discuss and debate ideas with your peers. You can also post questions, answers and advice about controlled assessment.
   Language Training Events
·         Exemplar materials
Our unique and exclusive range of exemplar materials across all controlled units is available from September 2009. You will have access to exemplar materials unit by unit from the beginning of the academic year in which that unit is first assessed, to ensure you can mark confidently and accurately.

Tasks are now available for secure download for those subjects with a high level of control for the task-setting stage of controlled assessment.
