You can register learners for BTEC WorkSkills qualifications, or units from the qualifications, using either Edexcel Online or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). For detailed registration procedures, please see Registering students for BTEC.
For learners starting programmes in September, the deadline for registrations is 1 November of the same year. All centres must complete compulsory training, so we strongly advise you to register early to enable us to meet your individual training requirements.
For roll-on, roll-off courses, learners must be registered within one month of enrolment (so, for example, if enrolment was on 1 January, learners must be registered by 1 February). Late fees will be incurred should registrations take place after this. Please refer to the Information Manual for further details.
You should choose the most appropriate option for each learner when making a registration. Where the learner is aiming for a WorkSkills qualification, make the registration for the appropriate qualification level (Entry 3, 1 or 2) and size (Award, Certificate or Diploma). Once registered, learners may transfer between qualifications before the certificate is claimed, so that they can receive the optimum level and size of qualification that they are eligible for.
You can register learners for individual units. However, if a learner has registered for units and subsequently wishes to register to convert the units into a qualification, we will invoice you for the qualification registration at the full qualification price. We'd therefore recommend that you register learners for the qualification if this is the expected outcome, rather than registering unit by unit.
